NAD, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a hub molecule in cellular metabolism, directly or indirectly impacting all 12 of the hallmarks of aging. Learn the science behind supporting healthy NAD levels.
NAD, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a hub molecule in cellular metabolism, directly or indirectly impacting all 12 of the hallmarks of aging. Learn the science behind supporting healthy NAD levels.
NAD+ is a central molecule of cellular function and metabolism that serves many fundamental functions in the human body, particularly in cellular energy production. Learn the benefits of nicotinamide and how it supports general health and healthy aging.
What follows is a transcript from our Collective Insights episode with Dr. Molly Maloof that discusses why humanity is facing an “energy crisis” and approaches commonly used by biohackers to optimize mitochondrial health.
What follows is a transcript from a Collective Insights podcast episode with Dr. Nick Bitz and Dr. Greg Kelly where we discussed one of the biggest aging breakthroughs of our time, senolytics.
By taking advantage of these science-backed ways to promote autophagy, you can support your overall health and cognitive function.
Cellular senescence is a state of irreversible growth arrest that turns functional cells into zombie cells. These senescent cells occur in all types of tissues and organs and the skin is no exception.
Improve your health and extend your lifespan with Qualia Senolytic, a dietary supplement designed to promote the removal of senescent cells
Is science on the cusp of changing the future of disease prevention via a deeper understanding of an individual’s biology at a molecular level?
During the development of Qualia Senolytic, Neurohacker Collective put our newest healthy aging product to the test to find out how users would respond.
As Neurohackers, longevity, in relation to both lifespan and healthspan, is a topic of great interest to us. Scientific understanding in these areas is advancing rapidly as are studies linking algae to longevity.
We invited the biohacking pioneer, Dave Asprey, to talk about the science backed practices to age better and live longer. He shares with us his favorite biohacks to improve your gut bacteria, your heart rate variability, your mitochondrial function and more. There is not just 1 thing that causes aging, but 7 functions that contribute to the aging process.
There is so much advice on longevity and aging that it can be hard to sort through all of the information. In this podcast transcript we dive into the science-backed approaches for living a longer and healthier life. Valter Longo, Ph.D., has thirty years of experience in longevity and healthy eating, and is one of the world’s experts in the field.
In September-October 2018, a 3-week sample of Qualia Life (formerly called Eternus) was sent to volunteers. Volunteers were selected to include a mix of people who were and were not currently taking Qualia Mind. No information was given on what product was intended to do, ingredients contained in the product, or expected responses. Instructions were to take 8 capsules with breakfast 5 days a week, with 2 off days, for 3 weeks. All participants were asked to complete a survey questionnaire after 5 days, 2 weeks, and 3 weeks. Seventy-one persons completed the 3 weeks of supplementation and provided responses to the survey.
In 1958, Jack Preiss and Philip Handler published a scientific paper describing how NAD+ was made from niacin in three steps.(1) This pathway was later named the Preiss-Handler pathway after the co-discoverers. It describes the enzyme steps needed to convert niacin into the NAD+ molecule.
In this article, we’re going to learn about mitohormesis, the activity of reactive oxygen species (ROS) as signaling molecules, and how and why ROS can be both beneficial and harmful. We will also discuss what leads to excessive ROS production and accumulation, how this associates with aging, and where antioxidants fit into the equation. Lastly, we’ll discuss nutritional strategies that can support the antioxidant defenses cells and mitochondria use to protect themselves against excessive ROS.
Dietary polyphenols are a family of plant compounds found in common foods including fruits, vegetables, nuts, chocolate, coffee, and tea. These compounds play important roles in the plant kingdom, protecting plants from infections, pests, UV irradiation from the sun, oxidative stress, and toxic metals and chemicals.
In this article we’ll be covering the “big picture” when it comes to NAD. We’ll be doing a deeper dive on specific topics we introduce in this article in subsequent articles in this series. As you go through this series of articles please keep in mind that, like other molecules in the body, NAD+ is a means to an end. We don’t care about NAD+ on its own; we care about it because of what it allows cells to do.
In Silicon Valley, the hub of anti-aging research and funding, countless entrepreneurs and high-profile celebrities use fasting to combat the effects of aging. In Anti-Aging Benefits of Fasting, we will explore the mechanisms that create these fasting benefits. This part is more scientific than the others, but we emphasize only crucial components in an easily digestible format.
