Lincoln Elementary Retrofit
Heat pumps and insulation for a 1950s school, so classrooms stay warm and the gas boiler can retire.
40% funded · $96,000 of $240,000
When it’s done: A gas-free school and about $38,000 a year the district can spend on teaching.
Lincoln Elementary’s boiler is older than most of its teachers. Parents organized, the district agreed, and the gap was the money.
The retrofit replaces the boiler with heat pumps and seals the building, and students track the savings as part of science class.
